Learning to jump into the water on your own is quite possible. Overcoming fear is one of the ingredients for success. You should not try to surprise others with your bravado by making a jump without being prepared for it in advance. Such "feats" are of no use to anyone and can lead to sad consequences.
Instructions
Step 1
The jump into the water must be preceded by ground preparation. You need to work out coordination movements in advance, make sure that you do not have a fear of heights.
Step 2
The key to a successful jump into the water is a well-trained vestibular apparatus, the ability to control your body in the air. This is achieved by acrobatic exercises: jumping over a horse, a goat, a series of somersaults on gymnastic mats.
Step 3
We memorize the main phases of a jump into the water. There are only four of them: approach, push, flight and entry into the water. The easiest way is to jump off the legs from the front pillar, bent over, popularly called it a "soldier" jump.
Step 4
If you start to learn to jump into the water in the pool, it will look like this: going to the front edge of the board, stand at attention. At the same time, the body is straightened, the arms are at the seams, the chin is raised, the feet are connected and parallel to each other, with our toes we grab the edge of the board. With a straight back, you need to slightly bend your knees and sharply push off the board in a forward-upward direction.
Step 5
When flying in the air, you need to maintain an upright position of the body, slightly bending back, the head is raised. Entering the water should be at right angles to the surface of the water without splashing too much. To do this, while performing a jump, you need to look not at your feet, but try to navigate by ground objects.
Step 6
If it is not immediately possible to carry out a dismount with a take-off, then you can start mastering jumping into the water from slumps, that is, from passive falls. The initial position of the body is the same as in the first case. Only instead of repulsion, we perform a slow tilt, which turns into a fall. At the moment when the position of the head is below the body, the heels should go up, the feet are extended in a straight line. Falling into the water is carried out with a straight back, arms are extended to the water, the angle of entry is 70-80 degrees.
Step 7
If you cannot overcome your fear of jumping on your own, ask a more experienced friend for help. At first, you can practice double jumps holding hands. Jumping in pairs relieves emotional stress, and after a couple of such activities, you can easily jump into the water without assistance.
