The venue for the final part of each next European Football Championship is determined on a competitive basis by a special commission of the Union of European Football Associations - UEFA. Call for proposals starts 6 years before the date of the competition and lasts almost a year, so the host countries of Euro 2012 became known back in April 2007. There were 8 applicants in total, and the joint bid of our two Eastern European neighbors, Poland and Ukraine, won.

These countries divided all the final matches, but since there will be an odd number of matches, Ukraine has one more game - 16. But the opening match will take place in the Polish capital - on June 8 at the National Stadium, the national team of this country will play it with the national team of Greece. Both games of this day will take place in Poland - three hours after the opening match, the Russian team will begin their first meeting of the final part. The rival in this match will be the team of the Czech Republic, and it will take place in Wroclaw. These four teams make up Group A, all six meetings of which will be held in Warsaw and Wroclaw.

There are 4 such groups in total. Group C (Italy, Ireland, Spain, Croatia) will also play in two Polish cities - Gdansk and Poznan. In Ukrainian Kharkov and Kiev, you can watch the matches of teams from group D (Sweden, England, Ukraine, France), and in Donetsk and Lvov - from group B (Portugal, Germany, Holland, Denmark).

The quarterfinals will take place from 21st to 24th June in two Polish (Gdansk and Warsaw) and two Ukrainian (Donetsk and Kiev) cities. In Poland, the last game of Euro 2012 will be held on June 28 in the capital of the country - one of the semifinal matches will be held there. Another semi-final a day earlier will be played in Donetsk.

The main game of the entire four-year cycle will take place in the capital of Ukraine, in the National Sports Complex "Olympic" - on July 1, the European champion of 2012 will be determined there.
