Mario Barwuah Balotelli was born in 1990 to a family of immigrants from Ghana. Congenital diseases required qualified medical care, for which parents Thomas and Rose Barwuah did not have the means. Therefore, when Mario was two years old, he was placed under the care of the Italian family Balotelli from the city of Brescia. His new parents, Mario Francesco and Silvia Balotelli, adopted the boy and began to raise him along with their three own children. Mario received Italian citizenship only at the age of eighteen.
In Brescia, Balotelli became interested in football, and at the age of five he already played in the district team. With age, his talents were revealed, and Mario was given a place in the youth team. Later, the club "Lumezzane" for the sake of sixteen Balotelli issued a special permit, with the help of which he became the youngest member of Serie C in the history of football.
