Measure "cold" muscles, ie. before training. After training, the muscles increase in volume due to the blood flow, and you will not be able to verify their true size. Take measurements once every two months to monitor muscle growth or reduction. Keep a diary and record your measurements.

If you need an accurate measurement of your muscles, then it is better to express it not in centimeters, but in kilograms. There is a special procedure - bioimpedance analysis of body composition - with which you can determine with a high degree of accuracy the mass of your muscles. In addition, you will find out your fat mass and lean body mass, i.e. the mass of the skeleton, internal muscles and organs. By doing a bioimpedance analysis every few months, you will track changes in your muscles to the nearest gram.
