For a beginner karateka, the yellow belt is the last. The one who received it goes to training at a high level. It is a recognition that the student can already control his life. To obtain a yellow belt, a karateka must master certain physical and spiritual skills and then pass an exam.

Step 1

Train willpower and the ability to concentrate on the hara point, which is the repository of the psyche and physical balance. It is here that the energy is born, which gives strength to the blow. This is the beginning of exam preparation.

Step 2

Learn to understand that the mind is in control of the body, and the main task of karate is to train the mind through the body. Practice the accuracy of the movements, gradually increase the speed of their execution. Participate more often in sparring sessions that provide an opportunity to evaluate your achievements and identify shortcomings.

Step 3

Do regular karate training for at least three months after earning a blue belt. It is this period that is considered the minimum in order to prepare yourself well for receiving a new belt.

Step 4

Prepare for passing the basic Kihon technique. To do this, learn how to perfectly perform tsuki: Haito Uchi, Koken Uchi, Morote Tsuki. And also Uke: Haito Uke, Koken Uke, Judy Uke. Develop the ability to clearly and correctly perform Ido - the basic technique in movement (Kaiten Ido, Dako Ido). As well as formal exercises: Kata (Pinan Sono San, Pinan Sono Yon, Tsuki No Kata, Yantsu.

Step 5

Complete the required conditioning tasks. To do this, you need to show your flexibility in a sitting position: legs apart, head and shoulders touch the floor. You also have to do the following: push up on your fists 50 times, jump from the crouch position 50 times, stand on your hands for 50 seconds, pull yourself up on the bar 10 times, kick in a jump on a target that is 20 centimeters higher than your height.

Step 6

Pass the fighting exams. These are: Yakusoku Kumite (all combinations), Uke Kayoshi (with blocks and counterattacks) and Jiu Kumite free fight (5-6 rounds 1 minute each).

Step 7

Write a written assignment.

Step 8

Get the last belt of the beginner row (yellow if you pass the exam) and start training to win the green belt.
