Gorodki is an old Russian pastime, which was gradually replaced by other, more popular today sports and computer games. Despite deep historical roots, the standards for the game and its rules were invented only at the beginning of the 20th century. To win, the player needs good physical shape, an excellent eye and, of course, a little luck. How do you play towns?

Step 1
Prepare your inventory for the township game. Make a bat for striking from several wooden blocks, connecting them together with metal plates. The easiest way to make a bat is to cut a piece of polypropylene water pipe suitable in length and diameter with a hacksaw and fill it tightly with sand, closing the ends of the pipe with plugs.
Step 2
Make townships. They are wooden cylinders 200 mm long and 50 mm in diameter. The minimum set for one player is five pieces. Townships can be easily turned on a lathe in a school workshop.
Step 3
Find a field for city battles. Any spacious hard-surfaced area, for example, asphalt, is suitable for the game. With the help of chalk, draw a two-by-two meter square on the platform - there will be figures in it. Also mark the buffer zone in front and on the sides of the square; towns will need to be knocked out outside this zone. Place a meter wide strip of sand in front of the buffer zone. If the bat hits this strip on a shot, the shot will not count.
Step 4
Line up a figure from the towns in a square and knock it out with a bat. You have two attempts. The first throw is made from a distance of 13 m from the square, the second - from 6.5 m. Then it is the opponent's turn to make his throws. There are fifteen standard shapes, but you can come up with them yourself. The winner is the player who knocked out the most pieces with the fewest throws.
