Instructions

Step 1

Choose a flat space measuring 18x9 m, stretch a net across it at 2.43 m for men and 2.24 m for women. The game can participate from 6 to 14 people in each team. The right of first service is determined by a toss-up. The ball is thrown over the net until it touches the field of the opposing team or until one of the players makes an erroneous touch on the ball. A point is awarded to the winning team for a victory in each rally. When the right to serve passes from one team to another, the players on the field are swapped clockwise.

Step 2

The serve is done behind the back line of the field. It doesn't matter if you jump the ball or not, the main thing is not to step over the line. The ball can touch the net, but not the antennas or their mental extension. Otherwise, the point is defended by the opponent. Make sure that the ball does not fly out of the playing field, otherwise the point will go to the receiving team. If the service is carried out by the same player twice in a row, then the other participants in the game do not change places. 8 seconds are given to serve the ball.

Step 3

Volleyball is a three-touch game, that is, the members of the receiving team can pass the ball to each other on their territory only three times. The ball can be hit or "saved" by any part of the body, but in no case should it be delayed. Blocking strikes are not included in the concept of "three touches". They are carried out by the players of the first line, who are located directly at the net. Most often, the service is accepted by the back row players. During the rally, it is forbidden to enter the opponent's playing field.

Step 4

Each team has a libero player who is always on the back line. He is wearing a T-shirt that contrasts in color with the clothing of the other members of his team. The task of this player is to accept the attacking blows of the opponent and the rebounds from the block blows. But he has no right to serve, participate in the serve, or block. The Libero can replace any back row player. In the latest rule changes from 2009, it is noted that in official international competitions, the team must include 14 players, 2 of them are liberos.

Step 5

The winner is the team that wins 3 games, which continue to 25 points. The fifth game is played up to 15 points. After each game, the teams move to the opponent's field. In each game, after 8 and 16 points, the teams go to a 60-second technical break. The coach can ask for a time-out twice (30 seconds) during one set and make up to 6 substitutions.
