Knowing how to tie the karate belt correctly is a very important step. This can be compared to the observance of the rules of etiquette at the table, rules of conduct in public places and dress code in various official institutions. If you tie it incorrectly, you will look very stupid, you will get the impression that an extra person who is ignorant of these matters has got into the tight circle of athletes, who still pretends to fit into their society. There are many different ways of tying a belt for karatekas.
Instructions
Step 1
The basic principles of tying a belt are as follows: - the belt should be tightly tightened so as not to untie during a fight or training;
- the belt is located just above the hips;
- the ends of the belt should be equal in length;
- both ends of the belt should start from the knot and be directed downward, which is very important, since during training and fights they will not dangle and interfere with your movements;
- the belt should in no case be crossed with the back. It is worth making a reservation here that in some styles the masters still require to tie the belt exactly so that it crosses behind the back, that is, in this regard, everything depends on the karate school.
Step 2
Having familiarized yourself with the basic rules for the location of the karate belt, you can start tying it. So, take the belt in your hands, press one of its ends to your belly in the navel area.
Step 3
Then, wrap the belt around you. Where the long end meets the short end, press the short end with your finger and secure it tightly by placing the long end over it and wrapping the belt around you one more time. Thus, it turns out that the belt will be wound in two layers.
Step 4
After that, put the long end of the belt over the short one, and then pass it under both layers of the belt formed on your torso, in the direction from the bottom to the top.
Step 5
Then take the long end in your hand, and thread the short one under both layers of the belt in the direction from top to bottom, that is, follow the procedure opposite to the one you did with the long end. When you thread the short end under the belt, a loop is formed into which you need to thread the long end of the belt and tighten the resulting knot. If you did everything correctly, then the resulting knot will hold your belt tightly during training or fighting.
