Skis are, of course, very comfortable. But you can't always afford them. Snowshoes are a more compact way out of the situation. And the simplest of them can be made from a pair of thin boards.

Step 1
Snowshoe boards should be about twice the length of the foot and three times the width of the foot. You can attach the snowshoes to the leg as follows: first, attach the bottom loop so that the leg is in the middle of the board. We remove two ropes or ribbons from both sides of the loop. They will wrap the leg around the ankle.
Step 2
The material for the production of snowshoes is different. Even keg rivets can be used. Two such rivets for one snowshoe must be taken and connected with twine or strap. But if you take the back of a simple Viennese chair, then very comfortable snowshoes will turn out from it. The bottom of the wicker basket can also be used.
Step 3
If there are no such materials, you can go to the forest and break branches. A couple of branches of bird cherry or mountain ash 120 cm long and 2-3 cm in diameter must be bent into an arc and tied tightly. We will have a frame on which we will then knit the mesh as small as possible from thinner branches. And even better for snowshoes, two of the same branches are suitable, but curved at one end. Then they can be put on the ground parallel to each other, so that the curved tips lie side by side and look up. Now insert a pair of spacers 30 cm long between the branches, and tie the ends of the branches together. Such snowshoes are very similar to skis and do not fall into the snow.
Step 4
There are several ways to connect branches and weave a mesh. If the branch bends well, then it will perfectly fit the snowshoe frame. You can tie it into a ring, or you can twist it with ropes or belts. A snowshoe net can be made not only from thin rods, but also from rope. Such a rope is pulled through holes that are drilled in the frame. But you can just tie a rope. In this case, we make notches on the frame so that the rope does not come off.
