There are a lot of ball games. Most of the games that use the ball have similar rules. The point is that the ball hits the goal or is not caught by the opponent. In this case, all actions are performed in a special way, which, like other nuances, is discussed in detail in the rules of each individual game.
How it all began
Gymnastic games with the use of the ball have been encountered since the time of the Indians of North America, Aboriginal Australians and many other peoples. Even the ancient Greeks painted figures of people playing with round objects. The ancient Romans, both young and venerable people, enjoyed playing ball, considering such a pastime to be an excellent exercise for all ages.
The ball was even stuffed with feathers, and, according to different versions, it was possible to beat off with both hands and feet. There were even special gloves for hands with which you could hit and catch the ball.
In the Middle Ages, people began to create special rooms for the ball game, and the first leaders of the games were elected, and even universities were created.
Until the twentieth century in Russia, rounders were the most widespread and popular. Lapta is a ball game that is quite similar to cricket, but unlike it, the rules of lapta are much simpler. The main thing in the game is that the players were divided into two teams, which were called "Cities", caught the ball and then had to "stain" the rest of the fleeing players with it.
Most played games
Games in which the required attribute is a ball can be divided into several categories, depending on the goal:
- You need to score a goal. The main thing is to score the ball into the goal or hit the goal with the ball. These include American and classic football, field and ball hockey, water and classic polo, as well as handball and basketball.
- Throw the ball over the net. This category includes tennis (large and table) and volleyball.
- To hit the ball - baseball, rounders (towns), with a bat - this is cricket.
- Hit all targets with the minimum number of hits, or hit as many targets as possible in one. This will include bowling, golf and billiards.
Today there are a huge number of ball games. There are games in which victory is fundamental, and there are games that are played solely for pleasure, for example, temari, or kemari. The goal of such a game is to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible, throwing it up with your foot.
Do not forget about gymnastics, in which a lot of time is spent on exercises with a ball. There are also many ball games that can be considered conditionally sports, they are played in courtyards according to their own rules.
It doesn't matter which ball game you prefer, the main thing is that sports are good for your health.
