On the last day of the first Olympic week, Elena Nikitina, who won the bronze medal in the skeleton, made me happy. And the day before, on his birthday, biathlete Yevgeny Garanichev climbed to the bronze podium after the individual race.
The leading place in the medal standings is still occupied by the German national team, whose athletes have already received 10 Olympic medals, of which 7 are gold, 2 are silver and 1 is bronze. The second place was taken by the Swiss national team, which won 7 awards, of which 5 were of the highest dignity. The Canadian team closes the top three, with 11 medals, of which only 4 are gold.
Russia is also inferior to countries such as Norway, the United States, the Netherlands and Belarus. It is worth noting that the gap between these teams is not very large, and the Russian team has every chance to improve its position in the medal standings. For this, Russian athletes need to receive the highest dignity medals.
