- - dense durable fabric 256 cm long (150 cm wide)
- - 2 tractor zippers 100 cm long
- - 2 pieces of foam rubber 100 cm wide, 75 cm long, 10 cm high
Instructions
Step 1
Make a blank for the main parts of the mat. Cut 2 pieces 100 cm long. Cut 2 strips 13 cm wide and 4 strips 8 cm wide from the remaining fabric.
Step 2
Take 2 narrow strips and sew a zipper between them. Cut off the excess length. Repeat with the other two narrow stripes. Sew all the stripes together into a ribbon, alternating a stripe with a zipper and a stripe without a zipper. Sew the resulting tape in a circle.
Step 3
Fold the larger pieces together and round the corners with scissors. Now sew the resulting narrow round strip with zippers one at a time, first to one large part, then to another. Make sure the zippers are on the short sides of large parts. Turn the resulting bag out.
Step 4
Unfold and spread it evenly. Secure the fabric with pins to keep it from sliding. Stitch exactly in the middle with bartacks along the edges. Do not sew about 10 cm to the edge.
Step 5
You have a case with two zippered entrances on opposite sides. It remains to insert 2 pieces of foam rubber into it and the sports mat is ready.
