Once closed to Europeans, Japan has gradually not only integrated into the global culture, but has itself become a part of it. We admire and use fine Japanese porcelain, we love to visit restaurants and order Japanese cuisine. At home, many of us wear beautiful and very comfortable robes of the traditional Japanese style "kimono". You can sew a kimono robe yourself, it's not at all difficult. If you want to sew a bathrobe, choose a terry cloth, if you want to make a home - then silk or satin.
It is necessary
- For a 120 cm long robe:
- Fabric - 3.2 m, 90 cm wide
- For a robe with a length of 80 cm:
- Fabric - 2.4 m, 90 cm wide
Instructions
Step 1
Draw a pattern according to the dimensions shown on paper. You need to draw the details: the back, the shelves - 2 parts, the sleeves - 2 parts. For processing the shelves and the neck, 2 pieces of the strap are cut out along the shared thread. Do not forget to take into account the 1.5 cm seam allowances on all sides. Lay out the pattern on the fabric and cut out all the necessary details on it. From the remnants of the fabric, cut out a belt of the required length, one piece 7 cm wide.
Step 2
Stitch the shoulder seams starting at the neckline, overcast the edges and press them in opposite directions. Finish the bottom of the sleeves - fold them 4 cm and sew. Sew the sleeves to the shoulder seams.
Step 3
Stitch the sleeve seams and side seams of the kimono robe. Zigzag the seams and iron them well. Fold the hem of the robe 4 cm and process it in the same way as the bottom of the sleeves.
Step 4
Sew the plank along the back seam, iron the seam. Attach it to the shelf with the right sides inward and baste to it, starting from the neckline on the back in both directions. Stitch the placket along the entire length, turn it to the right side. Iron the seam. Fold the unsewn edge of the placket, bending it inward by 1.5 cm. Iron the seam and baste the lower edge of the placket to the shelf and neckline, sew the seam along the front side of the robe.
Step 5
Fold the belt in half inward with the right side of the fabric, sew and turn it inside out, iron and topstitch on both sides, wrapping the ends inward. Iron the belt.
