Making an ice skating suit starts with music. After listening to the music, the designer makes a sketch of the future masterpiece. Next, the process of selecting the fabric begins. For this, special materials are used, because the loads on the material are colossal.

It is necessary

  • - sketch;
  • - the cloth;
  • - needles;
  • - threads;
  • - sewing machine.

Instructions

Step 1

During classes and performances, skaters perform complex gymnastic tricks that not any fabric can withstand. The jersey is stretched, the woven material is torn. The most popular fabric used in figure skating suits is supplex. This material is distinguished by a high degree of resistance to information, perfectly stretches and immediately returns to its original state.

Step 2

Start with a swimsuit if you are sewing a woman's suit. Due to the nature of the fabric, sew it one or two sizes smaller: it will fit like a glove. Prepare a basic pattern for an adjacent dress (see picture). Mark the pattern at the waistline. Prepare a narrow sleeve pattern. Apply it on the cut lines

Step 3

Make a drawing of the backrest. Set aside four centimeters from the middle of the back to sew in the zipper later. Check the box. Continue up the line to the middle of the back by four centimeters. Set aside one centimeter from the sprout along the shoulder line, from point # 1, three centimeters up. Connect point # 3 with smooth lines to point # 4 as well as the shoulder line

Step 4

Set aside four centimeters from armhole to shoulder and four centimeters to the left. Move the side seam line two centimeters to the right. Divide your waistline in half. From the point of division, set aside to the right and left one and a half to two centimeters. This is the depth of the tuck. Set points T2 and T3 for yourself

Step 5

Construct two equal prongs from the waistline. Divide the segment T2 in half. To do this, lower the perpendicular line equal to half of the T2 line. Connect the end with straight lines to point T3. Build the second scar by analogy. The notch along the line of sewing the skirt to the bodice should correspond to the shape and size of the prong.

Step 6

Build one wedge for the sketch of the skirt. Find the rest by analogy. Draw a vertical line down the entire length of the skirt. Draw horizontal lines to the right and left, along which set the width of the wedge, equal to the width of the prong multiplied by four.

Step 7

Start sewing the front of the suit. Place the middle of the front three centimeters up (see picture) and set aside one centimeter from point # 3. Set the same distance along the shoulder line from the neck.

Step 8

Set aside from point number 1 up two and a half centimeters to the right. This is needed to build the stance. Connect a straight line to the bottom point of the neckline point # 1. Set aside four centimeters from the shoulder line. Determine the depth of the chest dart, put point P.

Step 9

Move the side seam line to the right two centimeters. Set aside the depth of the second dart two centimeters from the waistline. Draw a line from the armhole to point 2. Construct two equal prongs from the waistline (same as on the back).

Step 10

Fold the fabric in half with a bend in the cross thread. Lay the pattern as shown in the picture. Uncover the details. Sew the bodice together with the lining. Sew the sacking pocket from the inside out. Sew in the zipper in the back, in the middle of the back. Sew the sleeves and hem the bottom.

Step 11

Grind off the wedges of the skirt, iron out the seams. Sew a bias tape two centimeters wide, three centimeters from the bottom of the skirt. Embroider the hem of the skirt over the trim.

Step 12

Sweep a skirt with a bodice along the line of the scars. Make notches at each corner of the wedge. Sew with a stitch seam from the inside out. Fold the face of the lining with the face of the top and stitch along the bottom of the skirt. Unscrew the lining inside out and attach to the seams with gussets. Finish the top of the suit. Sew the lining to the sleeves. Sew the sleeves. Press with iron.

Step 13

Sewing a men's suit is a little easier. Tailor the shirt according to the "Bodysuit" type, fix at the bottom with buttons. Sew special strips or elastic bands to your pants to secure your skates. One-piece stand-up collar, fitted bodice.

Step 14

Sew in a zipper on the back. Scar the bottom of the bodice. The flared skirt has eight gussets. Trim the bottom of the skirt with bias tape and embroidery. Sew the sleeves. They should be slanted, loose-fitting for more comfortable movement.

Step 15

Order your figure skating costume tailoring at an atelier. You can also place an online order for making a suit (https://www.art-blesk.com/ru/suit/figurnoekatanie/). You only need to take measurements and report them in the "Order" section. You will be contacted shortly to clarify the details. The made clothes are sent by courier or picked up independently.
