The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship will be the 14th European football tournament held every four years under the auspices of UEFA. By the way, the official name of the event is UEFA EURO 2012 ™ Poland-Ukraine, but in everyday life it is simply called “Euro 2012”.

Step 1
The final part of the tournament in 2012 will be hosted simultaneously by two countries: Poland and Ukraine. The first match will take place on June 8 in Warsaw, the final one on July 1 in Kiev. This tournament will be the third in the history of European football championships, which will be hosted by two countries at once. The first of this series was the European Championships in 2000, held in the Netherlands and Belgium; the second championship was held in 2008 in Switzerland and Austria.

The draw ceremony for the final part of Euro 2012 was held at the National Palace of Culture and Arts of Ukraine in December 2011 in Kiev. By the way, this championship is the last one, in the final of which only 16 teams take part. Starting with the next European Football Championship (which will be in 2016), the number of participating teams will be 24.
Step 3
The main condition set for Ukraine and Poland was to improve the infrastructure of cities and stadiums to the level of European standards. It is Ukraine that will have to carry out a large amount. The opening match of the European championship will be held in the 56 thousandth stadium in Warsaw. The capital of Poland is a historical monument, it is included in the UNESCO heritage list. The Warsaw stadium will also host the matches of one quarter and one second of the final. Wroclaw with its 43,000-seat stadium will also host the matches. In the port city of Gdansk, matches will be held in the quarter-finals. The group stage competition will be hosted by the city of Poznan, which houses the 46 thousandth stadium. The most important match of the tournament will take place in Kiev, where a stadium for 69 thousand spectators is being built. In addition, cities such as Donetsk, Kharkiv and Lviv will be able to host players and fans.
