The long-awaited presentation of a new collection of sportswear for Russian participants in the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 took place in Moscow. The Bosco Sport collection expresses the unity of Russian culture and sport. The color range of the athletes' uniforms has expanded by adding a lilac-violet hue.
The new collection of sportswear from Bosco Sport "Sochi 2014" was presented by famous former athletes and participants of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. The basis of the collection of sportswear is made up of flannel, caps and T-shirts. Participants of the Olympics will wear the presented clothes at the awards ceremony, and will also be able to wear them during rest between training and performances at games.
Features of the new collection
Clothes from the new Bosco collection are designed from individual elements, each of which conveys a unique national ornament, for example, Gzhel, Vologda lace or Khokhloma. In total, when creating a sports clothing line, about 28 different folk ornaments were used.
At the awards ceremony, athletes are encouraged to wear bright tracksuits in red and white, light cotton trousers and sweatshirts are perfect for indoor arenas, and warm ski jackets and trousers for outdoor competitions. Sleeves decorated with national ornaments give a special charm to the form.
To the blue-blue and orange-red color palette already known from the previous Olympic Games, a new lilac-violet shade has been added. All the elements of the new Bosco Sport sports collection feature the symbols of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games. The athletes' T-shirts and jackets proudly adorn the silhouettes of a pegasus and a griffin, symbolizing speed and strength. The patterns of mythical characters are intricately intertwined and form the letters RU.
Bosco released its previous Olympic collection back in 2002. Russian athletes wore it during three Winter Olympic Games, as well as two Summer ones. This year the time has come to change the image and create something completely new, but many athletes are quite superstitious, at first they reacted to the new sports form with a grain of salt.
The opinions of famous athletes about the new form
Svetlana Zhurova, Olympic speed skating champion, believes that the new collection of Bosco Sport uniforms embodies the perfect combination of Russia's rich folk culture and sports.
Svetlana Khorkina, a well-known Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics, admitted that clothes for Olympians are not only an ordinary suit, but also a way to express their mood, which is transmitted to all fans. Beautiful athletic form gives confidence to its owner, energizes and instills the will to win.
According to Ivan Skobrev, a participant in the future Olympic Games in Sochi, the letters RU look very original. The form itself seemed to the athlete beautiful, memorable and, importantly, comfortable.
