There is an opinion among Internet users and especially among "professional" bettors that bookmakers are actively fighting the most successful gamblers. Is it really?
Causes of the myth
If you look at various groups on social networks and channels on YouTube, it seems that bookmakers are really doing everything to prevent an ordinary player from winning. At the same time, the number of such “successful” ones literally goes off scale, almost every second openly “bends the beeches” and is punished for this.
In fact, no matter what strategy the "client" adheres to when betting on sports, 90% of players leave their money in the office. And this happens voluntarily, they just lose them. Very often you can find information about the lucky ones who really won a large amount, but as a rule, they do not have any problems with receiving money.
In most cases, the “fight against the successful players” is simply made up. Firstly, such information always attracts hunters for sensations and revelations. Thus, various Internet figures simply attract attention and a new audience. Secondly, many "gambling addicts" who are not able to give up sports betting, in this way simply justify their failures. In their opinion, accusing the office of deception is much more important than drawing conclusions and understanding the reasons for their immoderate and very ruinous passion.
Sports betting, like any lottery, involves risk and it is simply impossible to win at all times. There is not a single person who has earned capital from betting and continues to win successfully. It is impossible to get a permanent income on bets, fortune is a capricious and cruel lady. Even if someone is lucky to “cut the jackpot”, it is wise to use this money for business, and not return it to the same office in small portions.
Tricks of the bookmakers
Nevertheless, bookmakers still use some tricks. But this does not apply to individual "successful" players, but affects absolutely all clients of the bookmaker. The offices value their reputation, and in a highly competitive environment they simply will not run into a big scandal that would end in court proceedings and a ban on business. In recent years, the bookmakers have greatly revised the line of rates and odds. If two years ago in BC it was really "to raise money" and stay afloat, today it is much more difficult to do it.
From the available bets, the "most passing" ones are increasingly being removed, and the odds are getting lower and lower every year. For example, we can cite the popular bet in hockey "total over 4.5". This outcome is quite common in the NHL and often happens in the KHL. And if two years ago the odds of 1.7 and higher were justified, today the risk of losing the bet is incomparably higher. Recently, "Total 4.5B" can be seen with odds of 1.3-1.5, while the frequency of the bet has not changed, all matches can also end unsatisfactorily.
In 2019, you can safely place bets without fear of being cheated. Another thing is that the bets themselves have become less profitable and more risky. But these are not attempts by bookmakers to cheat, this is just a business. And in business, everything is quite simple: "Either you accept the conditions and use the services, or you do not." Given that the number of new users is growing, there is no reason for bookmakers to change the conditions in favor of the players. And don't forget the golden rule: "The casino always wins."
