The dream of many novice skiers is to ride "herringbone", that is, skate. This problem is quite simple to solve if you learn the technique in practice and train as often as possible.
It is necessary
Skis, sticks
Instructions
Step 1
Find skis and poles for skating. The skis should not be too long. You should choose them as follows: stretch your hand up, straighten your palm and place one of the skis next to it. It should be no higher than the middle of the palm. In general, the longer the skis, the more difficult it will be to master the skating course on them. The sticks should not be higher than the chin level.
Step 2
Come to the ski run. Choose an area that is not heavily covered with snow. Otherwise, it will be extremely difficult for you to ride "herringbone". Get into the correct body position for skating. Bend your back and ankle slightly. Push off with both sticks and cover several meters without moving your legs.
Step 3
Shift your body weight to the left side by pushing off with the left stick and moving your left leg slightly to the side. During this movement, place your right foot against your left shoe and move it to the right, having already made a push with the right stick. Cover several hundred meters, alternately rearranging your legs, and pushing off with sticks in time.
Step 4
Remember not to throw the sticks too far forward. This can not only slow down, but also cause a fall. On descents, try to push harder and lean your body forward.
Step 5
Practice skate skiing as often as possible. Forget about the classic style for a while. You can only use it when rolling down a hill. Try to overcome as many mountains and plains as possible in a skating way. Then you will not only master this style, but also develop endurance and physical strength. All this will allow you to quickly overcome the ski distance in the future.
