Every year, all hockey fans around the world await the main tournament of the national teams. The Ice Hockey World Championship convenes 16 teams under its banner, but only one in the end raises the coveted trophy over its head.
On May 25, 2014, in the capital of Belarus, at the Minsk-Arena, in the presence of more than 15 thousand spectators, the final match of the Ice Hockey World Championship took place. After sixty minutes of playing time, the victory was won by the Russian national team, which has already become a four-time world champion in modern history. The cherished trophy was lifted over his head by the captain of the Russian team, Alexander Ovechkin, and then all the players and coaches made a circle of honor around the court.
In the final, the Russians defeated the Finnish national team with a score of 5: 2. Shirokov, Ovechkin, Malkin, Zaripov and Tikhonov scored goals against the Finns.
The Russian national team brought 12 newcomers to this world championship, their ranks were joined by the recognized leaders of the national team from the KHL and NHL. It should be admitted that the Russians had the strongest line-up at the tournament in Minsk. The stars of the first magnitude of world hockey responded to the invitation of Oleg Znark. Alexander Ovechkin, Nikolay Kulemin, Artem Anisimov, Sergey Bobrovsky and some other NHL-sheep immediately arrived at the team's location before the start of the tournament. The arrival of striker Evgeny Malkin by the end of the group stage became a serious strengthening of the squad. It was the genius Eugene and Alexander the Great who managed to turn the tide of the game in the second period of the final meeting, when the Russians were losing 1: 2. In the final twenty minutes in the majority, Danis Zaripov scored the fourth goal, which became one of the most beautiful in the tournament.
During the championship, the Russian national team won all ten matches in regulation time and became the deserved triumphant of the 2014 world hockey championship.
