The entry of the Honduras national team into the final of the World Cup has already become a great sporting achievement for a country from Central America. Therefore, the main task of the Hondurans at the tournament was to demonstrate a decent game. It was clear to everyone that qualifying from the group at the world championship would be a very difficult task for the Hondurans.

The rivals of the Central American footballers were sports teams from France, Ecuador and Switzerland. In all three games of Honduras, it was felt that the players from this country clearly lacked class.
