Some hockey players consider the habit of wrapping a stick to be obsolete. Still, there are players who see many advantages in using just such a stick. For winding, you need to purchase a trape or cloth tape from a sports store.

Instructions

Step 1

Winding the stick

Place the club in front of you and make sure the tip is at eye level. If the stick is higher, cut off the excess. Unwind about 30-40 cm of trape from the roll and attach the tip to the very top of the stick. Twist the unwound piece of tape into a tight rope and wind it on the handle, keeping the distance between the turns of 3-5 cm. Then, without twisting, wind the second layer of tape up to the top of the club. Repeat the last loop several times to better feel the end of the club as you play. In total, you should wrap 10-15 cm of the cutting. The strap allows for a better feel on the rim of the club, and also makes it possible to pick it up faster if necessary.

Step 2

Hook Wrap

Wrap it starting from the heel of the club or from its cape - as you like. Do this as carefully as possible, pulling the tape tightly. To extend the life of the hook, apply a strip of trap to the edge that comes into contact with the ice during play before you start wrapping it. There is no need to wrap around the vertical part of the hook - this will only increase the weight of the stick. For the same reason, it is not recommended to wind several layers of trap - for good adhesion to the washer, one layer of winding is enough.

Step 3

Hook Stickers

Stickers are an alternative way to protect the hook from moisture and damage, as well as improve puck control and throw accuracy. The set includes 2 stickers that are glued to the hook from different sides. The main advantages of using stickers rather than traps are their light weight and ease of use. The trape increases the weight of the club by about 100 g, and the stickers by only 15 grams. In addition, the stickers look very aesthetically pleasing and have a stylish design: they are produced in various colors, with club emblems, images and inscriptions. Thanks to the stickers, ice and snow do not stick to the hook, which is very important during the game.
