The main criteria for choosing clothes for extreme winter sports, including snowboarding, are comfort, warmth and functionality. This is achieved through the use of advanced technologies and modern materials, as well as the effect of multi-layer clothing, which allows you to stay dry and warm in any weather and overload.
Instructions
Step 1
It will be mandatory for a snowboarder to use thermal underwear, tight-fitting to the body and sewn from special materials with a complex cellular structure. This fabric allows excess moisture to escape without hindrance, while retaining heat. Choose thermal underwear with mandatory fitting. It should sit on the body like a second skin, not hinder movement and not dangle on the body. It is better to choose pants with a length just below the knees and complement them with thermal socks so that the fabric does not get confused and does not rub the skin in tight-fitting shoes.
Step 2
A cotton or fleece sweatshirt is worn over thermal underwear, which acts as a heater. Fleece is a synthetic material that also wicks moisture out unhindered, retaining the heat generated by the athlete's body during high physical activity. In terms of size, it is better to choose fleece sweatshirts in accordance with the size, and cotton sweatshirts are one size or two larger so that they fit better on the body and do not hinder movement.
Step 3
On a frosty day, many people wear vests made of natural down over sweatshirts. They provide complete heat retention and weigh very little.
Step 4
The set of equipment for a snowboarder is completed by the so-called "membrane" - trousers and a jacket made of membrane fabric, the structure of which allows moisture removal and protects the athlete's body from external influences of wind, rain and snow. For trousers, it is better to choose an optimal membrane with a waterproof indicator of 8000-10000 mm, for a jacket - 5000 mm.
Step 5
Trousers are usually chosen several sizes larger so that they do not interfere at all when moving and performing spectacular snowboarding tricks. The belt of such trousers must necessarily have belt loops or they must be supported by special suspenders. The inner warm legs at the bottom should be gathered with an elastic band and protected from snow getting inside. The padded knees and back cushion the impact of inevitable falls. It is better to choose internal ventilation on the pants.
Step 6
It is better to choose a jacket with different ties and a "skirt" to prevent snow from getting inside. Ventilation in the underarm area will allow you to adjust the internal temperature during heavy loads and intense heat generation. Pay attention to the presence of all sorts of convenient pockets - for a mobile phone, ski pass, player. The jacket should be fitted with a windproof hood.
