Hook is a very common punching punch, which literally means "hook" in English. It is traditionally referred to in the same way in Russia. It is important not only to study the technique of its application, but also to prepare the bones and tendons of the hands with high quality so as not to get injured in battle.
It is necessary
- - boxing hall;
- - gloves;
- - bandages;
- - pear;
- - skipping rope;
- - partner;
- - trainer.
Instructions
Step 1
Warm up thoroughly before exercising. Run 1-2 kilometers in the hall or along the street. Take a rope and jump for 5-10 minutes. Be sure to knead your limbs well, and also perform bends and turns of the body. Since the hook is done with the whole body, it is important that all muscles are properly warmed up, otherwise you can easily get injured.
Step 2
Learn to clench your fist correctly. Squeeze your fingers as hard as you can. Now place your fist against the wall. If all the bones are completely pressed against it and made up a flat surface, then you did everything correctly. Remember that the hook and all other punches should only be made with the first two bones of the index and middle fingers.
Step 3
Practice air hooks. So now it's time to learn the side impact technique. Bend your legs and right arm slightly at the elbow. The left hand is near the face for protection.
Step 4
Make a small twist with your right hip and throw your hand slightly forward without a strong swing. Hook is applied only at close and medium range. Repeat the same movement with your left hand. The right hand is on the protection of the face, the left thigh is twisted, and the left hand delivers a side blow.
Step 5
Reinforce the acquired skill. After several dozen warm-up blows in the air, start practicing the bag hook. Be sure to wrap bandages around your hands and wear gloves. Stand with your face in front of a punching bag and repeat the same movement as in the warm-up. Alternate side kicks with your left and right hands without swinging.
Step 6
Start using this punch in sparring and fighting. Remember that the most effective hook spots are the jaw and liver. Therefore, when you work with a partner, try to take advantage of these vulnerabilities in close combat and work out this side blow.
