On January 28, 2007, Juan Pablo Montoya, along with Scott Pruett and Salvador Duran, won the 45th Anniversary 24 Hour Race at Daytona. Thanks to this, the Colombian became the owner of a unique record.

Montoya left Formula 1 in the middle of the 2006 season, moving to America. And already at the beginning of 2007 he took part in a prestigious 24-hour race behind the wheel of a Lexus prototype, which was prepared by the team of Chip Ganassi, a longtime acquaintance of the Colombian. It was with Chip Ganassi Racing that Juan Pablo, before moving to F1, won the title in the CART series and won the Indy 500.

Montoya did not disappoint this time, having won another prestigious trophy - now in sports car races. The ex-Williams pilot then became the owner of a unique record - he is still the only driver in the history of motorsport to win the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indy 500 and the Daytona 24 Hours.

Chip Ganassi also had an additional reason to rejoice - he became the first team owner to win twice in a row at Daytona, following Al Holbert's similar achievement in 1986-87.
