The 2013 Wimbledon tournament promises to be very exciting. The reigning champions Roger Federer and Serena Williams are arguably the best players on the grass. Most likely opponents: Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka.

Djokovic won the Grand Slam tournament in Australia this season - for the third time in a row. He has not parted with the number one classification since the beginning of this season, although he missed several major tournaments. However, just a couple of weeks ago, he lost in the most important fight - in the final of the Roland Garros Cup to his eternal rival Nadal.

Rafael Nadal started the season after the Australian Open and has hardly lost since then. He played 9 finals this season and won seven of them, including in France. He's probably in great shape, and no doubt in good spirits after so many victories. Last year, he flew out at Wimbledon in the second round, so he probably wants to win back.

This is not the best season for Roger Federer. However, the clay part of the season, where he had previously been inferior to Djokovic and Nadal, was left behind. On the eve of the tournament in London, Roger has already taken the first title this season. He won Wimbledon 7 times, so despite a difficult season, he is the most likely contender for the victory.

Andy Murray has been recovering from his injury for several months, so it is not yet clear what to expect from this experienced tennis player. However, in mid-June he had already won the Queens Club tournament, and one can hope that he will be able to play painlessly on the Wimbledon courts. It is worth recalling that it was Murray who was Federer's rival in last year's final.

Now let's move on to the ladies. In this half of the tournament, the most likely contender for victory is the American Serena Williams - she won here last year, she is the first racket in the world among women, this season she won 6 tournaments and has not lost to anyone for 31 matches in a row. Can anyone stop Serena from playing her best tennis?

Maria Sharapova is the third number in the classification, but the last time she defeated Serena was in 2004. The second seeded, Victoria Azarenko won the Australian Open and the Doha tournament this year, then missed several tournaments due to injury, but has already fully recovered. Unlike Maria, she has already beaten Serena Williams this season - in the final of the tournament in Doha. Let's not forget, also, the eighth seeded Petra Kvitova, who was the Wimbledon champion 2 years ago.
