Hockey gates have a certain size and configuration, namely, they must be 1.22 cm high above the surface of the ice and 1.87 cm wide in internal dimensions. The gate depth should be 1, 12 cm. The crossbars are made of a special material with a circular cross-section with an outer diameter of 5 cm. The side and top posts are usually painted red, and a special mesh is pulled over the posts, which dampens the movement of the washer. The goal itself is attached to the ice with an iron pin in such a way that it does not move out of place and at the same time is movable so that the goalkeeper and the players who crashed into them do not get injured.

metal corner, welding machine, drill, mesh, hacksaw for metal

Instructions

Step 1

It is easy to make hockey gates for a backyard yourself. Using a metal saw, cut the posts for the gate frame from the metal corner of the gate frame: 4 pieces of 122 cm, 1 piece - 187 cm, 2 pieces of 87 cm (lower and upper rear crossbars), 2 pieces of 112 cm top, connecting the upper front crossbar with the upper rear, and 4 pieces of 122 cm each - this is on the crossbars connecting the side goalposts with the rear goalposts from above and below. This will make your gate trapezoidal when viewed from above.

Step 2

Using a welding machine, weld the front and rear door frames, and the front one will not have a lower crossbar, and the rear one will consist of side posts, upper and lower crossbars between them. Weld the front frame to the rear frame using 6 crossbars: 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom on the sides, 2 at the top at right angles to the front crossbar.

Step 3

Drill holes around the outer frame for attaching the mesh. Sand the welds with sandpaper and paint the gate with metal paint: the outer frame in red, the back and crossbars in white.

Step 4

Pull the net over the gate using the drilled holes. Place the goal on the field and in front of each on the ice surface of the field draw a red line 5 cm wide, inside this line paint the goal area blue.
