Ekaterina Gamova is a volleyball player, an athlete and just a beauty. She was born in the Olympic 1980 in Chelyabinsk. Now she is the recognized leader of the Russian volleyball team, which is one of the best in the world.
Katya Gamova started playing volleyball at the age of 8. Already at the age of 11, the girl was 172 centimeters tall and was engaged in the basketball and handball sections. When she had to make the final choice in favor of one game, Katya settled on volleyball.
Gamova received her education at a sports school in Chelyabinsk. At the age of 14, she joined the team of craftsmen in her hometown Metar. And in 1997, Katya, as part of the Russian youth volleyball team, won the title of world champion. The next year was remarkable for the second place in the European Championship and the transition to Uralochka.
Gamow's contract was signed for 15 years. Nikolay Karpol became her coach. Katya also played in Uralochka's subsidiary team - Uraltransbank; in 1999, the athlete became the silver medalist of the Russian championship. In the same year, the Final Four took place in Naples, where Gamow also took part.
Katya was noticed and taken to the Russian national team. She actively works in all competitions, both international and Russian. As part of the student team, Gamow won silver at the Universiade in Spain. Then she went to fight in China together with the main team of Russia. Katya also supported the youth team by going to the World Cup in Canada. There, the girl became the most successful player in the competition. Canadian audiences were impressed with Gamova's skill and gave her the nickname Game over.
The athlete's series of victories continues at the European Championships and the World Cup. And in 2000, Ekaterina was recognized as the best blocker. In 2001, Gamova, as part of Uralochka, took first place in the Russian volleyball championship.
Championships replace cups and Grand Prix, and everywhere the athlete performs simply excellently, for which she is awarded various medals and awards. Its results are impressive, without Katya's participation it is already impossible to imagine the Russian team.
Gammova's skills were fully demonstrated at the Olympic Games in Athens. Then she showed her best results - 204 points! The volleyball final for the Russian national team turned out to be very tragic - it lost to the Chinese team. Katya could not contain her emotions and burst into tears, because she gave all her strength to this game.
In 2004, Gamova parted ways with Uralochka and moved to Dynamo. In 2005, Katya went to study at the Faculty of Journalism. As part of Dynamo, the athlete became the champion of Russia three times.
The new coach of the Russian volleyball team, Italian Giovanni Caprare, did not allow Katya to sit on the bench, actively used her skills and talent. In 2006, Russia received the title of world volleyball champion for the first time.
The Olympics in China for Ekaterina Gamova turned out to be not a medal. The athlete even left the Russian national team for a while and returned in 2009. Katya played for the Turkish club Fenerbahce in the 2009-2010 season.
The Russian volleyball athlete does not miss a single major competition and always gives all her best in the game at 100%. In 2010, the media recognized Ekaterina Gamova as the best athlete in Russia.
