Step 1
So, first of all, stock up on all the materials and tools necessary for making the bit. You will need a block of wood. Better to choose sticks from maple, white ash, bamboo and hickory. Also get hold of the most common wood saw, circular saw, lathe, sandpaper, ruler and a set of tools for working with wood.
Step 2
Now decide on the size of your bit. You will need a circular saw to adjust the block to the desired dimensions. The next step is to shape the bar into a baseball bat using a lathe. If you do not have the skills to work on a lathe, it would be better to turn to professionals - they will save you a lot of time and effort. If you are going to work with the machine yourself, we strongly recommend that you do not forget about personal protective equipment - protective gloves and goggles.
Step 3
As soon as you give the bar a more or less desired shape, take a chisel and start working on it. This way you can control the amount of wood you shoot.
Step 4
Now it's time to shape the arm. Measure with a tape measure 4 cm from the narrow end of the workpiece - this will be the length of the handle. Next, start peeling off the tree in a circular motion - this will be more convenient for you yourself.
Step 5
After you have formed the handle of the bit, you can assume that the work has almost come to an end. All that remains is to sand the baseball bat with fine sandpaper to give it a perfect smoothness and varnish to give the bat a shine. You can paint it first, and only then apply varnish.
