Sports schools for children and youth of the Olympic reserve (SDYUSHOR) are educational institutions that train professional athletes. Actually, from the name itself, the main task facing such educational institutions is clear: to prepare young men and women who can successfully perform at junior competitions of the highest level, and subsequently at competitions among adults.

In total, there are over 450 Olympic reserve schools in Russia. Their history begins in the 30s of the XX century, when a children's sports club was created under the Dynamo sports society.

Of course, students not only go in for sports, but also go through the general school curriculum. However, in the first place in any case will be training. Therefore, parents who want to send their child to such a school should think carefully: does he really want to connect his fate with professional sports? Will he withstand high physical and psychological stress? Is he ready for the fact that he will have to forget about rest and entertainment, that every free minute will be devoted to training? If there is even the slightest doubt, it is better not to take risks and not ruin the child's fate.

When choosing a school for the Olympic reserve, you need to pay attention to a number of circumstances. Firstly, what kind of sport the child is fond of, because not every school prepares athletes in this specialty. For example, if a child loves football and dreams of becoming a professional athlete, parents should pay attention to the schools of the CSKA and Dynamo societies. Secondly, where is the school located, what are the reviews about it? Thirdly, what kind of documents are required for admission (different schools may have their own characteristics). Etc. Try to collect as much information as possible so as not to be mistaken with the choice.

Remember that going to the Olympic Reserve School requires strength and endurance. Therefore, parents should make sure in advance that their child regularly does physical exercise, eat right, and observe the daily routine. Ideally, follow the principle: "Dad, mom, I am a sports family!" Joint jogging in the morning, doing morning exercises, exercising in the fresh air - all this is useful not only for the child, but also for the parents.

In short, if there is no doubt, take your child to such a school. Who knows, maybe this is the future Olympic champion.
