Chasing or hitting the ball is one of the most important and well-known technical ball exercises. It is widely used by both professionals and football fans. The exercise develops control and feeling of the ball, improves the general technique of handling the ball. As these skills develop, this exercise can become more difficult.

Step 1

The chasing is that the ball needs to be in the air for as long as possible with the help of the legs and possibly other parts of the body besides the arms. Without letting the ball fall to the ground, it is thrown up again and again by feet (or other parts of the body).

Step 2

First you need to learn how to stuff with one foot. You need to start with your working leg, which is more convenient for hitting the ball. Before starting the exercise, the ball must be picked up at about waist level. Some kind of special stand before the start of minting is, in principle, optional. Legs should not be spread wide apart - they should be positioned so that it is convenient to immediately use them.

Step 3

The ball should be thrown in front of you with both hands low - about the level of the face or slightly lower. When the ball drops to a level of about 10-20 centimeters from the ground, you need to start stuffing. The distance from the ball to the ground should depend primarily on your convenience and, in general, on the height at which it is convenient for you to start chasing.

When hitting the ball, the leg should be straight and directed at an angle to its original position. The ball must be hit in the air and must be kicked in with the kick. It is with such a blow that the ball can fly straight up.

Step 4

The ball must not be hit hard! The ball should rise to a comfortable height for you. Beginners are better off not throwing the ball very high. Then you can limit yourself to the height at the level of your belt or even lower. It is quite convenient to throw the ball up to the height from which you threw it with your hands. As you improve your skill, you can throw the ball higher and higher.

For beginners, it is optimal to toss the ball to about the same height while maintaining a constant impact force. The leg can be kept in the air all the time, constantly bending it and unbending it to the desired angle, and you can put it on the ground. Since it will be necessary to put your foot on the ground and raise it quickly enough, you need to do this carefully to avoid injury.

Step 5

Naturally, at the initial stage, the ball will not always fly strictly vertically. In order to tame the ball in the air, you will have to follow it. If it's uncomfortable to play with your foot, can you connect your knee, chest? or head.

To fill with both feet, you need to have good control of your "non-working" leg. In this case, the ball on impact must go up and slightly to the side - in order to fall at the other foot. It is very good to develop the “non-working” leg precisely by alternately chasing the ball with the right and left feet.
