Hosting the Olympic Games is not only a great honor for any country and city that has become their capital, but also a great responsibility. Indeed, in addition to the construction of new and modernization of existing sports facilities, it is necessary to improve the city infrastructure, the work of public transport, ensure the safety of participants and guests of the Olympics, and resolve issues related to their placement. And, of course, to make the Olympic Village a convenient and comfortable place for athletes to live.

What's on the territory of the Olympic Village in Sochi

Participants of the 2014 Winter Games will live in 62 comfortable low-rise buildings located in a landscaped park. In each of these buildings (from 3 to 6 floors) there are suites, including duplex ones, as well as a comfortable hall, a restaurant, and a fitness room.

The total number of apartments is 1715. 569 of them are intended for accommodation of the participants of the Paralympic Games, therefore they were designed taking into account their limited possibilities. All access roads to the buildings with such apartments have a slope of less than 5 degrees; the buildings themselves provide spacious elevators for people in wheelchairs and appropriately equipped bathrooms.

Each apartment has a beautiful view - either the sea or the majestic mountains.

In the Olympic Village there are also premises for cultural leisure, watching TV reports on the progress of the competition, snack bars, Internet cafes, etc. Everything is provided so that any resident of the village does not experience everyday inconveniences, the athletes feel comfortable.

Representatives of the Olympic family and the International Paralympic Committee will be accommodated in 13 buildings of different heights, containing 1,039 apartments.

How the Olympic Village will be used after the Games

The Olympic Village is actually a well-equipped resort complex, which has everything you need for comfortable year-round living and recreation. Therefore, after the end of the Olympics, all of its buildings and structures will be used as hotels. The leadership of the Krasnodar Territory and the resort city of Sochi are confident that these apartments, located in a beautiful place with a developed social infrastructure, will attract a large number of vacationers, not only from Russia, but also from other countries.
