A swimming mask allows a person to see almost as well in the water as they do in the air. Without it, neither spearfishing, nor an ordinary sightseeing walk in order to get acquainted with the inhabitants of the depths of the sea, is impossible. Therefore, it is very important to choose the right swimming mask so that it gives you a good view, does not fog up and does not drip.
Instructions
Step 1
Modern scuba diving masks are designed in three parts: a rigid rim to protect the lenses from breakage, a soft silicone body to ensure a tight seal, and an adjustable attachment strap. When choosing a mask in a store, first simply attach it to your face without wearing a strap. Inhale through your nose. If the mask shrinks well and fits you, it will stick to your face and hold on even without a strap.
Step 2
Now consider it in more detail. Seals - silicone rim of the case, should be soft enough so as not to chafe or irritate the delicate skin of the face. The color of the soft shell is also important. Professional divers and spearfishers prefer opaque black material. The viewing angle is thus narrowed, but the lenses do not glare. In the event that you buy a mask for leisurely underwater walks, choose the color of the body in accordance with your preferences, this will not affect the quality of the mask in any way.
Step 3
For those who are going to dive to depth, compact masks with small volumes of space between the lenses and the face are more suitable. The lifting force of such a mask is small and it will not pull you to the surface when diving. Choose a mask that has this figure within 300 cubic mm.
Step 4
For a beginner dive, a mask with monoglass is suitable for the first diving experiences. More reliable is the one with two glasses. It is used for deep diving. There are also masks with corrective glasses on sale, in this case you can choose the appropriate diopters together with a sales assistant.
Step 5
The tightness of the mask also depends on how securely and comfortably it will be fixed on the head. The fastening strap allows you to adjust the degree of pressure of the seals to the skin of the face. It should be equipped with swivel buckles and a special neoprene attachment to prevent long hair from ripping out when you remove the mask.
