Football, being at the moment the most popular and massive sport in the world, excites the minds of people from almost all over the world. By uniting fans and making them spend time cuddling up on TV screens at home, in bars and everywhere, this sport forms a whole world, one might even say a football kingdom. And of course, like every kingdom, football has its own king.
He was predicted from childhood a successful football future, but could anyone imagine that one day this guy from a poor family will be called the king of football with one voice. Of course, we are talking about the legendary Brazilian striker Pele.
The unique player was born in 1940 in the small Brazilian town of Três Coraçoins. His father, a former football player, from an early age instilled in his son a love of football, which, combined with his immense talent, led the boy to the local children's football team. Already at the age of 7, Pele was distinguished by a spectacular and effective game, thanks to which he was noticed by representatives of the Santos club. He was not yet 16 years old when he first appeared in the jersey of his new club. Shining with his performance, he was soon called up to defend the colors of the national team, where he immediately showed an impressive debut.
During his long sports career, Pele has set many records and is still the only footballer to have won the World Cup three times. This happened in 1958, 1962 and 1970. The great footballer also took part in the 1966 World Cup, but was injured at this championship. And the Brazilians didn't win gold.
Pele has hit the opponent's goal more than a thousand times in his career. There are not so many footballers who have reached this milestone in the history of world football.
Someone considers Pele the best player in the history of football, while others are skeptical of such statements, but everyone recognizes him as a legend. For many years to come, his bright, phenomenal game will make millions of people around the world indulge in memories and, of course, compare the current stars with the stars of the past. But be that as it may, football will always have only one king, because this is the nickname given to the legendary Brazilian striker Pele.
