The opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games of the last decades are always a colorful show in which thousands of volunteers, professional actors, the most famous athletes and officials are involved. These two events bring together not only sports fans, but also connoisseurs of mass performances, representatives of the elite and just people who want to witness the most significant events of their time.
The XXX Summer Olympic Games will begin in England on July 25 this year and will last 19 days. However, the official opening ceremony is scheduled only at the end of the third day of the competition - it is scheduled to start on Friday, July 27, at 21:00 local time. Taking into account the three-hour time shift for residents of our country using Moscow time, the beginning of this event will coincide with the beginning of the weekend - Saturday, July 28. In other time zones of Russia, it will be already deep at night.
As a rule, several hours of the ceremony are occupied by the ceremonial passage of representatives of the delegations of each of the countries participating in the main sports competitions of the four years. In total, representatives of 205 countries are expected at the London Olympics, but the organizers promise that the passage of their representatives will be completed in an hour and a half. The rest of the time will be devoted mainly to the mass performance, the details of which are kept secret. But, of course, information is leaked to the press that 900 children will be involved in the show, the largest bell in Europe weighing 27 tons and even farm animals - sheep, horses, cows, chickens, ducks, etc. The show is directed by Danny Boyle, director of Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting. Almost thirty million British pounds should be spent on the preparation of the opening ceremony.
This Friday night show will be held at the Olympic Stadium, which has been thoroughly renovated specifically for the Olympics and can accommodate eighty thousand spectators. Among them will be such by no means ordinary citizens of their countries as the British Prime Minister, his Russian counterpart appointed as the head of our delegation, the first lady of the United States, who heads the American delegation, etc. The closing ceremony of the games will take place at the same stadium on August 12.
