Very soon Russia will host a grandiose sporting event - the first Winter Olympic Games in the history of our country. Of course, such an event requires colossal preparation. And not only athletes, but also artists, because before the start of all sports competitions there will be a spectacular opening ceremony for the Sochi-2014 Olympics.

The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee selected participants for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games. As a result of the competitions, 3000 young talented people were selected from among students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, as well as circus and creative teams. Among them there will be almost 2000 dancers, about 1000 best acrobats and 200 trapeze artists from vocational schools of the country, the Great St. Petersburg State Circus and the Great Moscow State Circus.
Many of the participants involved in the scenes of the opening ceremony were invited from the Mariinsky, Bolshoi theaters, as well as the Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg opera and ballet theaters. Most of them are already taking part in rehearsal performances that will last until the start of the Olympic Games.
In addition, 12 opera soloists and many actors from leading Moscow theaters will take part in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. It is already known that among the performers there will be the Kuban Cossack Choir, the Kantele dance ensemble from Karelia and many young groups from all over Russia. For the spectacular ceremony in Sochi, it is planned to involve local artists as well. The repertoire of all the performers is kept in the strictest confidence.

Although the script for the opening ceremony of the Sochi Olympics was not officially released, many well-known publications have already published some details of this event. According to them, the show will take place on three stages, and the opening ceremony itself will consist of 9 stages, each of which will be dedicated to a certain period of Russian history. Spectators will see luxurious crews on the stage, symbols of various regions of our country, heroes of Russian folk tales and even a fleet of five ships led by Emperor Peter I. This grandiose ceremony will take place on February 7, 2014 at the Fisht stadium.
