With the onset of winter in central Russia, skiing rises annually to the top of its popularity. In order to get the most out of a quick descent from a mountain or cross in the forest, it is important not only to choose the right skis, but also to prepare them properly. For this, it is customary to use special lubricants in skiing.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, every beginner should be aware that the ski surface is divided into two sections: sticky (takes about 40 cm in the middle of the ski) and slippery (the rest of it). Therefore, they are lubricated in different ways. Paraffins are applied to the nose and heel of the ski for good gliding, and the sticky area is treated with a holding ointment.

Step 2

Now let's talk about how to properly lubricate your skis. To apply paraffin, we need an iron set at a low temperature. We lay the skis with the sliding surface up and iron the end of the ski with an iron. Now we rub the surface with paraffin and again iron the end of the ski with an iron. At the correct heating temperature, the wax will melt slowly and evenly. If you smell smoke, reduce the heat level of the iron.

Step 3

We perform a similar procedure on all slippery surfaces of skis and leave them for about half an hour, after which we remove excess paraffin with a plastic (not metal!) Scraper and polish the surface to a shine with a soft cloth.

Step 4

Applying the ointment is a much less laborious process. It is enough just to rub it with a layer on the sticky part of the ski.
