As a result of the transition to the summer-spring system, the new Russian football championship will begin in 2012 at the end of July. The clubs are preparing for its opening comprehensively - they raise the physical condition of the players to the proper level, renew their rosters and do not forget about their appearance. Somewhat earlier, the journalists announced the new image of the head coach of the St. Petersburg Zenit, and more recently the players have also demonstrated new sets of game kits.
Since football matches began to be televised, the rules have been made to require teams to wear contrasting colors. Therefore, each club prepares sets of two colors for the new season - dark and light. The St. Petersburg team has one of these kits, traditional for Zenit, in an azure tint - the shirt, shorts, and leggings are painted in it. The jersey has a stylized arrow in a darker blue towards the left shoulder. In the same place - near the heart - the club's coat of arms remained, and on the seamy side of the shirt, invisible to spectators, the inscription “Our name is Zenith” is placed in the same place. On the right is the logo of the manufacturer of the form - Nike. Below the club's emblem and the manufacturer's logo is the name of the sponsor - Gazprom.
This set is conventionally called "home" - according to the rules, the hosts have priority in choosing the color of their uniforms, and the guests are obliged to adapt to them by going out onto the field in a contrasting color set. The “guest” set of the Zenith form has the same design, but instead of the azure one it is painted in white.
The presentation of the updated football ammunition for the Russian champion took place on July 10, and Roman Shirokov, Igor Denisov, Viktor Faizulin, Nicholas Lomberts and Vyacheslav Malafeev acted as models. The goalkeeper appeared in front of the cameras in all gray - the goalkeeper is not subject to the rules of color coding "friend / foe".
Igor Denisov, the most useful player of the last championship, told reporters that it is more convenient for him to play in the new, longer shorts. Apparently, now the fans should expect an even more productive game from him. The representative of Nike, with which Zenit has been cooperating for the last two years, said that the company uses resource-saving technologies in production - 13 recycled plastic bottles are used for each set of football uniforms. But this does not make its quality worse - the new form is almost a quarter lighter and 20% stronger than last year.
