This happens exclusively in the playoffs, and here's why: in 2003, the "predators" made their way to the Stanley Cup for the first time. One of the fans decided to celebrate this event in a rather unusual way and threw a catfish onto the ice. Since then, it has become traditional fun. And now, if Nashville has secured a ticket to the playoffs, we will definitely see another fish on the ice.
The fans are not stopped even by the fact that they will have to answer for this trick. Moreover, the rest of the match of their favorite team, the fans throwing the fish, will have to spend in the police station, there they will also issue hooliganism. But it can be even worse: in one of the games of the final series of the Nashville Predators - Pittsburgh Penguins, another tradition lover threw a catfish onto the ice. And in addition to hooligan actions, they tried to incriminate him with illegal carrying of weapons.
Despite all the unpleasant moments, the cheerful "fish" tradition lives on. In the home arena of "predators" they even sell souvenirs with the notorious fish.
