On 12 December 2015, UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino led the UEFA EURO 2016 group stage draw at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. All 24 national teams, which will have the main matches of the biennium in the summer, have recognized their rivals in groups.
Group A
The French automatically took the first line in Group A, as the hosts of the upcoming European football championship. Further, the sports draw, as it seems at first glance, did not give the 1998 World Champions any negative emotions. The French rivals in Group A at UEFA EURO 2016 will be teams from Romania, Albania and Switzerland.
Group B
Group B is of the greatest interest among Russian football fans, because it is here that the draw sent the Russian national team. In addition to the Russians, two British teams were included in Quartet B: England and Wales. The fourth consecutive number in group B among the Slovaks.
Group C
Group C was headed by the reigning world champions and three-time triumphs of European championships - the Germans. Germany's rivals in the UEFA EURO 2016 group stage will be the national teams of Ukraine, Poland and Northern Ireland. It is noteworthy that the German national team has already met with the Poles as part of the qualifying stage for UEFA EURO 2016. The matches were very interesting, which further fuels the intrigue for the upcoming battles.
Group D
The D quartet at UEFA EURO 2016 seems to be one of the most interesting. Despite the fact that the tournament regulations leave chances for the playoffs for the team that took the third place in the group, at the moment it is difficult to determine the top three favorites. The Spanish national team may be an exception, but this team will have to meet serious resistance in the face of the Czechs, Turks and Croats.
Group E
Group E at UEFA EURO 2016 can rightfully be considered the "quartet of death". This is no coincidence, just look at the composition of the participants. Nominally, the first line was taken by the Belgian national team, which in recent years has experienced one of the best football generations in the country's history. The Belgians will be accompanied by the past finalists of the European Championship Italians, strong Irishmen, as well as the Swedes, led by the unfading Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Group F
The last group of the 2016 UEFA European Football Championship lags far behind in terms of names. However, interesting confrontations are planned in this quartet as well. The Portuguese national team, led by one of the best footballers of our time, Ronaldo, took the first place. In addition to the Portuguese, the teams of Iceland, Austria and Hungary will play in Group F.
