Professional hockey players rewind with a special tape not only the hook of the stick, but also its handle (upper grip). The hook is wrapped from heel to toe in one layer. The color of the tape is usually black. This winding increases stick-to-puck grip. Today we will look at the most common way to rewind the club handle, which is used to prevent the club from slipping out of the player's hands.

Instructions

Step 1

Attach the tape to the very top of the club and unwind about 20 centimeters from the roll, but do not wrap around the club yet.

Step 2

Stretch the unwrapped piece of tape while twisting it as shown in the figure. Please note that the ribbon is twisted in such a way that the result is a "pigtail".

Step 3

Next, wrap the resulting "pigtail" around the club handle. Please note that the distance between the turns should be about 3-5 centimeters. The length of the winding itself can vary from 15 to 20 centimeters. It all depends on the personal choice of the hockey player, how much corrugated surface he prefers.

Step 4

Then, without twisting, wind the tape up and down to the very base of the handle. Please note that the tape must be wound with an overlap so that there are no "missing" spots.

Step 5

When you get to the top, rewind the tape several times at the very last turn. Thus, you get a retainer that will prevent the club from slipping out of your hands at the most inopportune moment.
