The first football competition called The First World Cup was created by Thomas Lipton in 1909. This tournament took place in the city where the creator himself lived, namely Turin. The matches were attended by Germans, Italians and Swiss, who were among the most powerful countries where football battles were held. At this time, the British completely abandoned the organization of such world-class sporting events. Lipton himself realized that the tournament would not be able to take place without the so-called founders of football, that is, the British. Thomas decided to make an offer to one of the best clubs in England, which at the time was called: West Oakland. Most of the players of this excellent team were ordinary coal miners, but despite this, the English footballers won the first world tournament, where there were not many clubs participating.

Two years later, in 1911, West Oakland returned to defend the title they had won earlier. The British managed to win the tournament again and defend the trophy. The British won the Italian team "Juventus" with a score of 6: 1. It should be noted that the Turin club still exists and takes part in all possible tournaments! These were the first club football world championships, and the era of struggle between national teams was ahead.

Almost twenty years later, in 1930, the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, hosted the first World Cup for national teams. Teams from North and South America and Europe took part. The hosts became the triumphant. After this grandiose event, the main football committee (FIFA) established to hold similar tournaments every four years. More than seventy years later, all football fans from all over the world are still awaiting the main sporting event of the four years.
