Instructions

Step 1

Horse training is best done with only one rider. In this case, it will be easier for her to get used to the person and assimilate his requirements. You should not be overly demanding to a young animal, encourage him with your voice, caress and accustom yourself to various delicacies, so it will be easier to gain trust.

Step 2

In total, four types of gaits are distinguished: the slowest is the step, then the trot, and the gallop is even faster. A separate type is the amble, which is also called the wrong gait. Although this type of movement is convenient for the rider, it is harmful to the health of the horse, which is why riders most often refuse it. It is necessary to gradually train the horse to switch from one type of gait to another at the signal of the rider.

Step 3

To start walking, you must sit firmly in the saddle, then push the body forward and give a push with both legs. If the horse is moving too fast, hold it with the bridle, and if it is slow, do another swing with the legs.

Step 4

Having mastered the movement with a step, you can go to a trot. In order to change to this faster gait, give the horse the signal with frequent thrusts of the legs until he understands what is required of him. The speed of training depends on the temperament of the horse. As a rule, it is enough for a hot animal to simply loosen the reins, and the horse will go from stride to trot on its own.

Step 5

Once you are free to trot, teach your horse to go into a canter, that is, a gait at three paces. The rider gives the command: "Gallop - march", accompanying the order with the movement of his legs. A well-groomed horse should gallop off the right foot without showing any disobedience. If the animal is taking too fast a pace, hold it back with a bridle.

Step 6

Be patient when teaching any command. It is better to do several workouts on different days than to over-drive the animal, remember that it must trust you. Only then can you achieve perfect command execution.
