The Tour de France is the most famous and prestigious bicycle race in the world. The super bike race runs from late June to early July on the highways of France and Belgium. The Tour de France consists of 20 stages and one prologue and lasts 23 days. Perhaps, watching the competition on TV, you wondered: how to become a participant in the Tour de France?
Instructions
Step 1
Sign up for a cycling section. Find this section in your city, contact the trainers, find out if you are of the same age. If you have completed all these points successfully, then you can start training. It is worth noting that if you are seriously aiming at participating in the Tour de France, then you need to start training at the age of 8-12 years. If you are already over 30, then the coaches are unlikely to prepare you for some serious tournaments. To participate in amateur competitions, you can prepare yourself.
Step 2
Perform well at regional and national tournaments. It is not enough to be a good cyclist to become a participant of the super biking Tour de France. You need to become one of the best cyclists in your country. A competent coach and your own diligence will allow you to develop endurance and show significant results in competitions. From childhood, train yourself to become the first in tournaments of any scale. 22 teams and about 200 cyclists participate in the Big Loop. Not that many compared to the total number of people cycling around the world.
Step 3
Establish yourself in a professional team. After a period of big and small victories of youth, it is worth moving on to victories in adult cycling. However, it would be nice to get into a professional cycling team for a start. It includes about 30 people of different roles. If you showed yourself well at the youth level, you have performed at international tournaments behind you, then you can safely wait for an invitation from one of these teams. The most famous cycling clubs in the post-Soviet space are the Russian "Katyusha" and the Kazakh "Astana". It should be noted that not every professional team is allowed to participate in the Tour de France. Therefore, we must strive to get into the top 22 teams in the world, for example, the American “Garmin-Barracuda” or the “RadioShack-Nissan” from Luxembourg.
Step 4
Become a helpful member of your team. In 2011, 22 teams and 198 cyclists took part in the Tour de France. This suggests that not every one of the 30 team members takes part in the most prestigious cycling race. You don't need to be the best cyclist on your team to participate in the Tour de France, but you need to be one of the most rewarding in your role in order to guarantee your participation in the Tour de France.
