The Olympic Games in Sochi are breaking all records for innovation, because the Olympic program of the competition has expanded thanks to the introduction of new types of disciplines. As many as 98 sets of medals will be played at these Olympic Games. This number of kits is explained by the fact that 12 new types of competitions have been introduced into the program of the Winter Olympic Games.
The greatest number of innovations affected the ski sport - 9 new types of competitions have appeared here. Most of them are related to extreme sports - freestyle and snowboarding. To each of these disciplines, 4 types of competitions were added. In freestyle, women and men will now compete for medals in the following types of competitions: ski hapfile and ski slopestyle. Competitions for snowboarders have diluted such types as parallel slalom and snowboard slopestyle.
The rest of the disciplines included in the new Sochi 2014 Olympic program are team competitions. So, in biathlon, the first Olympic mixed relay is finally starting, which has already been tested by our biathletes at the stages of the world cup.
