It is unlikely that a full-fledged summer vacation can be imagined without scuba diving. The essential point here is the selection of the appropriate equipment. How to choose the right equipment for diving into the wonderful underwater world?

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, you should consider the issue of purchasing a diving mask. The simplest device for observing objects in the aquatic environment is swimming goggles. But such glasses are not recommended to be used at a depth of more than two meters, otherwise the work of the blood vessels of the eye will be disrupted.

Step 2

The mask allows you to equalize the pressure in the space under the mask due to exhalation through the nose. It is generally accepted that the mask is the main element of a diver's equipment.

Step 3

Modern masks usually have a silicone body, although rubber ones are still found. Silicone is more durable than rubber and less susceptible to water breakdown. When choosing the color of the mask, keep in mind that the transparent body expands the field of view, but can create reflections on the glass.

Step 4

The porthole of the mask must withstand mechanical stress and the chemical effects of sea water. Various types of plastics and tempered glass are preferred. It is preferable to choose a silicone strap. Several manufacturers offer masks with a convenient mechanism for easy and quick adjustment of the harness and with swivel buckles.

Step 5

To test the mask for leaks, place it on your face without a strap and inhale slightly through your nose. If the mask sticks to your face and sticks to your face, then its shape suits you.

Step 6

The next element of a diver's equipment is a breathing tube. Breathing through it is convenient when under the surface of the water. This part consists of a mouthpiece and the tube itself. Made of soft silicone, the mouthpiece fits easily in the mouth.

Step 7

The choice of tube length is individual. A long tube fills less, but requires more effort when water is blown out of it at the moment of emerging. The optimal tube length is about 40 cm, and the diameter is about 25 mm.

Step 8

When choosing a tube, pay attention to the presence of a fastening system. It is usually made in the form of a plastic clip or a rubber ring. In the absence of such an attachment, there is a risk of tube loss.

Step 9

Can a submariner swim without fins? Certainly. However, in the presence of scuba diving equipment, freedom of movement under water is constrained. Fins are able to compensate for this unpleasant moment. The model that suits you should be chosen taking into account individual characteristics.

Step 10

The suitability of fins is determined by the ease of attachment to the legs and the effectiveness of the movements during swimming. Closed-heel fins are comfortable to wear on bare feet, they fit more tightly. When using a wetsuit with boots, choose open heel and strap fins.

Step 11

If you are planning to become a scuba diver, then you cannot do without a wetsuit. There are three types of such suits: "dry", "semi-dry" and "wet". A dry suit provides comfort and dryness. It is sealed, but constrains movement and requires special training in swimming in it. Such a suit is preferred by professionals and amateurs of diving under the ice.

Step 12

The most commonly used wetsuits are "wet". Their advantage is that they do not impede movement when swimming underwater. Water penetrates under such a suit, but it does not create discomfort, since it heats up from the heat of the scuba diver's body. Another advantage is the lower cost compared to a dry suit.

Step 13

"Semi-dry" suit is a cross between the options considered. Feet and hands in such a wetsuit are open, the zipper is airtight. The main criterion when choosing any type of wetsuit is how tightly it fits to the body.
